More than eighty loggerhead turtle hatchlings were stolen from a nest on North Carolina's Ocean Isle Beach. The early-August theft is all the more critical given that the National Marine Fisheries Service recently reported that loggerhead populations in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans face extinction.
